CR STORIES is an exciting literary website devoted to realizing the concept of flash-fiction. Every 3 months CR Stories accepts 2-3 writers — published writers and new writers welcome, 2 pieces each. CR Stories does not publish in the summer months July and August.

CR Stories is collecting submissions for spring 2012. Pieces submitted that don’t follow the submission guidelines won’t be considered. Sorry!

SUBJECT

Curly Red Stories is interested in funny, empowering, character driven, rich prose of literary quality that tells a story under 750 words. In your face profanity and pornography not generally accepted. Creative non-fiction and fiction accepted.

PUBLICITY

Circulation of approximately 5k currently.

The Writers Salon in SF, Vermont College of Fine Arts, Facebook, UCLA Writers, Poetry Flash, AWP, Email News Announcement.

THEMES OF INTEREST
Travel, humor, absurdity, relationships, place, family, extended family, day to day life and culture. The stories will be screened for subject matter, length and quality.

SUBMISSION DETAILS - Submissions that do not follow these guidelines won’t be considered.

— Please submit 3 pieces and if published CR Stories will choose 2 pieces to publish.

750 maximum word count.

— In .doc format.

—Your Bio. Please follow these Bio Requirements: Very important!

A black and white photo portrait for your bio page. A color photograph is accepted, we will turn it into black and white for you. 

1. •A two paragraph description of your writing background and current goals written in third person.

3. •Submit photo in .jpg or pdf format.
   

—If your piece was published before please inform where and when. Please do not submit photos for your writing submissions only your bio. CR Stories will purchase unique photos to go with your piece.

Once your piece is read you will get a response one week before the
next showcase. If published you will be notified and you will have
the opportunity to approve any editorials. We ask that once your piece is
published you announce it to at least 10 friends to comment.

CR Stories wants publishers and agents to find you on search results.

CR Stories is an act of love. The editor built CR Stories to continue to explore the subject matter of story design from her MFA thesis subject, in the community of writers with a similar passion. The end goal is that writers have deeper and more expansive exposure to publishing vehicles. No ads or in-linking occurs for this reason. We keep it clear and pure for the writers work.

Although, there is no cash reward for your submission, publicity will be provided, a unique image and the personal touch. One author per month will be interviewed. And your stories do get added to the gaggle of other brilliant writers, of which you can be proud!
